Purification Calculator 2026: Cleanse Your Investment Returns
When you earn dividends from a Sharia-screened company, a small portion of its income may come from non-compliant sources (e.g., interest on cash deposits). Purification means estimating that portion and donating it to charity — so what remains in your pocket is fully halal. Use this calculator for an illustrative estimate.

How we calculate — methodology
- Rule: purification amount = dividends × purification ratio. The ratio represents the estimated non-compliant share of the company's income.
- Source: AAOIFI Sharia standards on financial securities screening; many Islamic funds publish a per-share purification figure in their annual Sharia reports (aaoifi.com).
- Why it matters: screening keeps non-compliant income below ~5%, but "below 5%" is not zero — purification closes the gap.
- Last updated: October 2026. Figures are illustrative; verify fund-specific ratios in the fund's own Sharia report.
